ROCKSTARS and ska legends are among the latest acts confirmed to be playing on the Sunday night of this year’s Godiva Festival.
With organisers having finalised the Sunday night main stage line-up, Rock band, We Are the Ocean and Rhoda Dakar will take to the stage alongside host of other acts to bring the popular three-day festival to a close.
We Are the Ocean will support the main stage’s headlining act, Embrace, while Rhoda Dakar – best known for her work as ex-lead singer of The Bodysnatchers and her time with The Specials – will appear earlier in the day, along with Danny Ansell, Callum Pickard & The Third Look, Jake Melles & Harry Alexander, Meadowlark and The King’s Parade.
Coun Abdul Khan, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Events, said with just under a month to go, the line-up is almost complete now.
He added: “We’ve always had a strong line-up for Godiva Festival in previous years and I’m proud to say that this year is no different.
“Between the Rock and Rhythm tent, the Main Stage and the Family Field, there is so much going on at this year’s festival that it’s sure to be a fantastic weekend of entertainment for everyone who attends.”
Sunday’s Rhythm Tent will feature a line-up of Coventry’s homegrown talent, with The Voice competitor Letitia George, who competed in the hit BBC 1 show earlier this year, set to headline.
Letitia will be joined by local bands, UV BEATZ, Haunted Mousetrap and Three Souls.
The festival, now entering its seventeenth year, is set to run from Friday, July 3 until Sunday, July 5 at War Memorial Park and promises fun for all the family – featuring live music across several stages, comedy, vintage market stalls, a funfair and a Ceilidh dance.
