Coventry yob jailed for terrorising neighborhood

Updated: 4:52 pm, Oct 12, 2015

A YOB who terrorised a neighbourhood with his anti-social antics has been jailed for breaching the terms of his injunction, just days after it was issued.

Alex Burbury, of no fixed address, was jailed for 49 days last Monday (October 5).

The 22-year-old was slapped with the order just 11 days before hand, at Coventry County Court, for terrorising people in the Willenhall area of the city for number of years.

The order, which was secured after a portfolio of evidence was presented to the courts by Whitefriars Housing and West Midlands Police, barred him from entering the neighbourhood for two years.

On Monday (October 5) Burbury was found within the exclusion area and was arrested before he was taken before the courts hours later.

Sgt Anthony Ashton, from the Binley and Willenhall neighbourhood policing team, said: “Anti-social behaviour injunctions are used to protect the community, so it is only right Burbury has been brought to justice for breaching the terms of his injunction.

“He’s now got time behind bars to realise that his disregard of these terms means punishment.”

Anyone who sees Alex Burbury breaching his injunction should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
