THE SKY Blues have signed experienced full-back Danny Pugh on a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

The 31-year-old has penned a deal to join the Sky Blues on a free transfer after his contract with Championship side Leeds United expired this summer.

Pugh progressed through the youth system at Manchester United and moved on to two-year spells at Leeds and Preston North End respectively before joining Premier League side Stoke City in 2008.

The attacking full-back made more than 80 appearances in the top flight and cup competitions for the Potters before heading back to Elland Road in 2012.

“I’ve maintained that we only bring in players that improve the quality of the squad and Danny certainly ticks that box for us.” said manager Steven Pressley.

“He’s shown throughout his career that he is not only defensively resolute but also poses an attacking threat which made him a definitive target for us as we build for next season.

“Danny will also be a positive influence on our younger players who continue to show promise and they will only benefit from his presence on the pitch and in the dressing room.”

Striker Shaun Miller has also made the switch after signing a one-year deal following a successful trial.

The former Sheffield United player joins on a free transfer after his contract at Brammall Lane expired this summer.

The 26-year-old has been on trial at the club since the start of pre-season and has impressed Pressley during his time at the club.

Miller started his career at Crewe Alexandra and enjoyed a six-year spell with the Railwaymen before moving on to the Blades in July 2012. Miller joined Shrewsbury Town on loan in March 2014 and scored three goals in eight games for the Shrews.

“He is a player whose situation we have monitored over the course of the summer,” said Pressley.

“He has now trained with us for a ten-day period, in which he impressed us greatly. First and foremost, he is a player that possesses terrific work-ethic. He also brings terrific movement and finishing ability.

“He is at a great age of 26 and I believe he can become a prolific goal-scorer for this football club.”
