SKY Blues striker Josh McQuoid admits he was disappointed not to have scored the winning goal after being made to settle of a point at Swindon Town.

The visitors took the lead minutes before the break when McQuoid bagged his second goal of the season after being put clean through on goal by Jim O’Brien.

It looked as though Andy Webster had scored a second when his header from an O’Brien corner looked to have crossed the line in the second half.

But the referee waved play on and Swindon snatched a point thanks to Raphael Rossi-Branco who levelled for the Robins 19 minutes from time as the sides played out a 1-1 stalemate.

“Not many teams come and get a point here.” said McQuoid.

“It is always a difficult place to come for any team so I think there are plenty of positive signs with this point.”

“I thought we played well and we were really compact which meant it was difficult for them to break us down, much like we’ve been for most of the season.

“It was frustrating in the final third really as I thought we could have used the ball better but either side could have won the game and it was a really competitive second-half.

“You look at the teams we’ve played so far and you’ve got to say we’ve played teams who will probably be up there at the end of the season. It has probably been the most difficult start to the season.”

Pressley echoed the thoughts of McQouid and is backing the striker, on loan from Bournemouth, to continue his form in front of goal.

He added: “It’s been a really tough run of fixtures for us but with only one defeat in our first five games I think we’ve showed great resilience and a great mentality.

“I’m obviously pleased for Josh McQuoid because he said he wants to play as a striker if he came here.

“The is something that had not quite been the case at previous clubs which may have skewed his scoring record but as a striker you want to score goals and he’s came here and done that and not only is he doing that but he’s also working really hard for the team.”
