TWO MEN have been arrested after a cannabis grow was discovered in Nuneaton.
On June, 11 just after 4am, officers were called to reports of four men forcing entry into the derelict Grand Bingo and Social Club on Camphill Road.
The lock was snapped on the front door of the building and two men attempted to escape on foot but were arrested.
After further looks, officers found a cannabis grow inside the address with around 112 plants in two rooms.
Also reportedly discovered inside the property were a cutlass-style sword, a large hatchet, a tomahawk, several meat cleavers, a 10-inch “zombie knife”, a six-inch kitchen knife, and three crowbars.
The men are not believed to have anything to do with the grow but were instead trying to steal.
One 19-year-old and one 24-year-old, both from Coventry, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary (non-dwelling) and going equipped.
PC 2103 Smith said: “The discovery of a full house at a cannabis grow means that we can be certain our action has hit the gangs that operate these grows right in their pockets.”
