Coventry Editorial 15th Jun, 2024   0

A MAN has been charged with a series of shoplifting offences in Coventry as police continues its efforts to tackle business crime.

David Wills, aged 37, from Coventry, has been charged with 15 shop thefts and five counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

The offences were committed during May and June, mainly at retails parks in Coventry.

Wills was remanded in custody and appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court on Friday.

Officers from West Midlands Police say they fully understood the impact and frustration of shoplifting on businesses of all sizes.

“It’s a crime which can affect livelihoods.

“We routinely carry out high visibility patrols in retail areas, along with other activity, to trace and catch offenders.”
