SKY BLUES in the Community hosted a 5k walk promoting mental health and wellbeing.
On June 14, SBitC hosted the walk around the perimeter of the Coventry Building Society Arena and was organised by John Szyndler, health and wellbeing manager and George Heaton, health and wellbeing coordinator.
The scheme saw a participation from members of the SBitC MENtalk project.
MENtalk is dedicated to assisting men over the age of 18 by providing mental health support through sports and the guidance of mental health coordinators.
Coventry Pathways, another group committed to supporting men through mental health struggles, also joined the event.
Known for organising wellbeing walks, chats, and hiking trips, Coventry Pathways brought their distinct approach to the collaborative effort.
To support the attendees, people from NHS Talking Therapies, Coventry, Warwickshire, and Solihull attended the event.
John Szyndler said: “This walk during Men’s Health Week is a fantastic way to bring attention to the resources available for men struggling with mental health issues.
“By collaborating with Coventry Pathways and NHS Talking Therapies, we are showing that there is a strong network of support ready to help.”
Liam Farrell, added: “A fantastic experience, shared with other men’s local talking therapies that Coventry Pathways was honoured to take part in.”
