COVENTRY City will play Championship rivals Bristol City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The Sky Blues make the trip to Ashton Gate in the first round of the competition with the game to take place the week commencing August 12.
Former City boss and player Gary McAllister pulled out Coventry’s ball when conducting the draw.
Coventry make the trip to Bristol again in the league later that some month.
