Ghost of You-Caitlin McCarthy

Caitlin is a star, no question. The complete package and a back catalogue of some superb songs, but just when you think it can’t get any better there comes along a song that is so emotive that it’s almost hard to listen to. On the surface it was written about a broken romance where the girl is hoping the guy will change.

Though anyone living with dementia would have a completely different take on this song and it could easily relate to watching a love one slowly slip away day by day in heartbreaking fashion. It’s beautiful and so very sad; I really hope that this is a huge success for one of Coventry’s finest singers. It’s released on 27th September.

I’ve been told that Caitlin has really taken the lead on this song from every aspect of the production she told Matt Cotterill the producer exactly what she wanted and we’re so happy with the results.

The single is launched at Knights at the 2-Tone Village on September 20th with The Session and Danny Ansell supporting.  Tickets are available online and of course at the 2Tone village.

Strip Search Tramp to close LTB Showrooms

Great news that the superb Strip Search Tramp are to play the LTB Showrooms, sad news that it will be the closing gig. Massive congratulations to Alan Denyer and his team for creating some extra-special in Coventry, Alan really needs to be honoured in some way for all his work and initiative and giving the people of Coventry and beyond so much enjoyment, and bringing some wonderful art installations to the city.

So Strip Search Tramp will play the venue on September 13th along with, Eryx London (Notts Post punk) and MICHAEL (London, formally known as Bad Guys). You may recall that back in March I wrote this; “It’s only March, but already this album is in line for the best album of 2024. From the start to the finish B-Movie Disasters rocks the fillings outa’ your teeth, you have been warned”, they are really that good.

SST is not your usual punk band. SST songs trawl a wealth of obscure musical and cultural references. With the release on Bandcamp in 2024, the debut album “B-Movie Disasters” delivers 12 tracks of musically diverse garage punk. The album draws on themes such as Voodoo, Serial Killers, Yakuza, Climate Change, and of course “Escalators” The bands influences include: The Damned, Killing Joke, Hawkwind and The Cramps to name a few.

At present the album is on a limited release on Bandcamp. The Band are playing live shows throughout the UK during 2024 in support of “B-Movie Disasters”.
