MARK Robins insists Coventry City will keep striving to improve ahead of a home match against Norwich City this weekend.
The Sky Blues beat Oxford United 1-0 in the Carabao Cup in midweek and are seeking a first win against this weekend’s opponents Norwich since February 2009.
And Robins believes his players and confident and hungry in their pursuit of success this season.
Robins said: “We expect a tough game, but we will concentrate on us and hopefully that will be enough to put in a good performance, because we will need one to get something from the game.
“We don’t want to be talking after the game having not performed to the level that we’re capable of doing.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what this group can do moving forward. They look confident and hungry, they’re young, but they have some real talent.
“That’s always the case, you want to do more, and you want to do better you have to try and keep improving and there are areas where we can clearly improve.
“We will keep striving for that and we will keep working in that way, it’s what we’ve always done.”
City’s Carabao Cup victory in midweek put the Sky Blues in the hat for the third round draw of the competition for the first time in 12 years.
And the Sky Blues will host Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the third round next month with Robins looking forward to the clash.
Robins added: “They’ve got plenty of talented players and a big enough squad to rotate if they want to but they’ve got some top players and obviously James Maddison is there who our fans know really well.
“It’s a really good game. You get through to the third round and sometimes you get these ties, a home tie is all you want and it’s one to look forward to for everyone.
“Fans of a certain age will remember the 1987 FA Cup final, so it will be a good game.”
