A NUNEATON man has been sentenced to 102 months in prison for robbery.

After stealing an electric scooter at knifepoint, Cameron Marlow, of Jodrell Street will spend the rest of his 20s behind bars.

The sentenced was extended from a 54 month custodial period to 102 months by the judge.

On June 26, a man in his late 20s was near the Ropewalk in Nuneaton town centre riding an e-scooter when he was approached by Marlow and another male.

The 24 year old told the man to get off his scooted and the second man pulled a blade from his waistband.

After an altercation and believing that the knife would be used on him, the victim let go of the scooter, and the two males ran off with it.

The scooter was sold online from someone who purchased it from Marlow for £50.

On July 11, Marlow was found at an address in Attleborough Road where he was arrested by officers.

Marlow was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on October 3, and is also required to pay a victims’ surcharge of £228.

Investigating officer DC Ward said: “Cameron Marlow has thrown away the next eight years of his life for the sake of £50.

“He has attacked someone and taken their property in a senseless act of violence. Marlow will be over 30 when he finally gets free, he will have missed his 20s almost completely.

“Marlow can’t possibly think this was worth it. In eight years, we hope that realisation sinks in properly.”
