SHAY Willock’s late penalty earned Coventry Sphinx a point in a 1-1 draw against Boldmere St Michaels.
Willock levelled the game from the penalty spot on 79 minutes after Oliver West opened the scoring shortly after half time at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
The result means Sphinx sit 16th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, one point above the relegation zone.
Following a goalless first period, Boldmere broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when West cut in from the left and saw his deflected effort beat Charlie Woods in the Sphinx goal.
However, the home side won a penalty on 79 minutes after substitute Roan Newey drew a foul in the box moments after coming off the bench.
And Willock confidently converted the resulting penalty as Sphinx played out a third consecutive one-all draw.
Coventry are next in action against Grantham Town on Saturday, October 19 with kick-off at 3pm at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium.
