COVENTRY City dropped into the relegation zone following a frustrating 1-1 draw away at fellow strugglers Queens Park Rangers.
An early goal from Haji Wright put City ahead only for teenage substitute Kieran Morgan to level the game for the R’s after the break at Loftus Road.
The result means the Sky Blues sit 22nd in the Championship table, one point from safety in the relegation zone.
Coventry made the perfect start when Wright’s shot squirmed through the gloves of QPR goalkeeper Paul Nardi after just four minutes after Milan van Ewijk saw his header saved.
The home side responded with a chance of their own as Sam Field lifted a shot over the crossbar after good work from Koki Saito down the left.
And the R’s went close again later in the first half when Paul Smyth cut in from the right and curled a shot inches past the post.
The Sky Blues almost doubled their lead in the second period as a QPR defender superbly turned Josh Eccles’ dangerous cross from the right behind.
However, the home side equalised on 63 minutes when Morgan’s volley into the ground deceived City goalkeeper Oliver Dovin as the 18-year-old scored his first senior goal.
City had a chance to win the game late on only for Ellis Simms to see his shot saved by Nardi with teammate Norman Bassette in acres of space to his right.
Coventry are next in action against Luton Town on Saturday, October 26 with kick-off at 12.30pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
