TWO concerts and talk are next up in the Leamington Music Winter Season.

The Jubilee String Quartet perform at Leamington’s Pump Rooms on Friday November 8, The Binchois Consort at Warwick’s St Mary’s Church on November 12, and former Classic FM presenter John Suchet talks at Leamington’s Spa Centre on November 24.

The Jubilee Quartet, returning to Leamington for the third time, is made up of four musicians from across the globe. Playing Webern’s Langsamer Satz, a love song to the woman he would later marry, which lay undiscovered in an attic until the early 1960s, together with string quartets by Haydn and Smetana.

The Binchois Consort are an award-winning British vocal ensemble which includes members of the choir of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The group returns to Warwick with its new programme, ‘In the Midst of Death there is Life’, celebrating the 550th anniversary of the death of Franco-Flemish composer Guillaume Du Fay – the dominant figure in European music of the second half of the 15th century.

In a new partnership with the Warwick Words History Festival, John Suchet, former ITN war correspondent and news anchor, talks Beethoven. His latest his book traces the composer’s life from his early days in Bonn to his dying days in Vienna.
