World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims - Service to take place in Coventry today

PEOPLE from Coventry and Warwickshire will come together for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims.

A special service will take place at 3pm today (Sunday, November 17) at St George’s Church, Barker Butts Lane, Coventry.

Services take place around the world every year on the third Sunday in November.

The event enables the community to join with road safety advocates to remember and pay tribute to those individuals that have tragically died or been injured in collisions on roads.

It is also a time to support the families and friends affected by their losses and to renew everyone’s commitment to improving road safety, whilst also at the same time honouring the crucial work carried out by members of the emergency services.

Glenn Hartwell, from Coventry road safety charity ‘Because Your Life Counts’, is the organiser of the event.

He said: “We would like to extend this invitation to welcome individuals, families and representatives from organisations who share our commitment to road safety.”

The first-ever World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims in Coventry was held last year. It was well attended and the organisers hope even more people will go along this year.
