GAME OFF! - Coventry Sphinx's midweek clash with AFC Rushden and Diamonds postponed due to waterlogged pitch

COVENTRY Sphinx’s game against AFC Rushden and Diamonds tonight has been postponed.

Sphinx were due to travel to Rushden’s Hayden Ground tonight only for the game to be called off.

The referee deemed there to be too much standing water on the pitch following a second pitch inspection.

An initial inspection by the referee allowed Rushden’s pitch maintenance team to continue working on the playing surface.

However, the pitch has now been deemed waterlogged leading to the postponement of tonight’s match.

A date for the rearranged fixture will be announced in due course.
