THE BEDWORTH Christmas Lights switch-on event tomorrow (Saturday) has been scaled back due to safety concerns with the forecasted weather.
The decision was made alongside event partners who agreed that operations would not be safe in the expected 50mph winds and heavy rain.
Alternative dates were considered with a view to rescheduling the event, but without promise the weather will improve, and the availability of traders means the event will go ahead but with changes for safety reasons.
The craft and stall traders have been moved indoors, and will still be available throughout the day.
Bedworth Covered Market will be open in the daytime between 8am and 2pm, with Bedworth Methodist Church next door opening from 10am until 1pm with its craft and church fair.
Inside Bedworth Civic Hall, there will be the Civic Hall’s Christmas Fayre from 11am until 4pm, with entertainment, stalls, drinks, and food.
D&K Bedworth Covered Christmas Market is open from 4pm to 8pm.
The Covered Market will be filled with traders, festive food, drinks, Christmas trees, Santa’s grotto, and lots of entertainment, brought to you by Phase One Steel Band, Phaze One Dance Academy, PR Productions Jack & the Beanstalk, and Julie Bromage Dance Academy.
At 6pm at All Saints Church, Bedworth’s Christmas lights will be switched on.
