As the festive season falls upon us, I want to take a moment to reflect on the year gone by and to look forward to next year.
This year has of course brought its challenges in the form of increased demands for social care and housing, struggling public services, and the cost-of-living crisis.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the local organisations, charities, and individuals who have invested their time and resources into supporting those in need.
Your generosity and dedication embody the spirit of Christmas and have made a real impact on the lives of many.
However, with the election of a Labour Government, we now have the opportunity to build a fairer, more prosperous future for our community.
I want to thank everyone who supported me during the General Election this year.
It is an honour to continue serving as your Member of Parliament and I am committed to ensuring that your voices are heard locally and in Westminster.
This Christmas, we would all do well to support one another and remember those who may be facing difficult circumstances.
I also want to acknowledge the emergency workers that will be working tirelessly over the holidays to keep our community safe.
