ABANDONED and suspected stolen vehicles have been recovered by police in Coventry.
West Midlands Police’s Radford and Holbrooks team spotted a car on false plates which had previously been connected with crime.
The car was seized while the team continues to investigate.
The Foleshill team also recovered a suspected stolen car, while the Stoke and Wyken team found a burnt-out scooter in Stoke Heath Park.
Although the scooter was damaged beyond repair, the team is carrying out further enquiries to see if it has been used in crime before its destruction.
Teams have also been busy visiting businesses in the city.
Along with partners from Coventry City Council, the Stoke and Wyken team seized a large amount of illegal vapes and tobacco from a shop, while the St Michael’s team took part in a Streetwatch initiative.
The team engaged with retailers and shoppers at the Central 6 Retail park, providing reassurance and advice.
The St Michael’s team also visited the Hope Centre in Binley Road, where they met one of Santa’s reindeer while discussing crime prevention with residents.
