COVENTRY City conceded twice in injury time as the Sky Blues suffered a dramatic late collapse in a 2-1 defeat at Norwich City.
Norwich midfielder Amankwah Forson struck twice in the space of four minutes in stoppage time after Milan van Ewijk put the visitors ahead at Carrow Road.
The result means Coventry sit 15th in the Championship table, six points clear of the relegation zone.
Norwich almost broke the deadlock when Borja Sainz controlled Marcelino Nunez’s pass and volleyed the ball towards goal as Oliver Dovin made a smart stop.
However, the Sky Blues took the lead on 24 minutes when Jake Bidwell delivered a cross to the back post from the left and van Ewijk volleyed home from six-yards out.
The Canaries almost drew level after the break as Dovin reacted sharply to keep out Emiliano Marcondes’ header low down to his right.
Norwich then somehow failed to draw level just before the hour mark as Dovin denied Marcondes from close range before Bobby Thomas heroically blocked Sainz’ follow-up on the line.
The home side went close again minutes later as Kenny McLean’s header from a corner came back off the crossbar.
However, Norwich’s pressure eventually told in the first minute of injury time as Forson curled a shot into the top left corner from 25-yards out to leave Dovin with no chance.
And worse was to come for Frank Lampard’s side in the 95th minute when Onel Hernandez slid the ball into the path of Forson who saw his shot from the edge of the penalty area deflect into the net past a helpless Dovin.
Coventry are next in action against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Saturday, January 11 with kick-off at 6pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
