FOOTBALL - Jake Bidwell signs contract extension at Coventry City

COVENTRY City defender Jake Bidwell has signed a new contract to his extend his stay with the Sky Blues until the summer of 2027.

Bidwell joined the club in January 2022 from Swansea City and has gone on to make 123 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.

The 31-year-old has captained City on several occasions and has featured for the Sky Blues in a Championship play-off final and FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Bidwell said: “I’m buzzing and excited for the next two years.

“I’m really happy to be here and I said at the start of the season I would like to stay here as long as possible, as long as I’m wanted and there is a role for me here.

“I’m delighted to get the deal done and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve over the next few years.”




Bidwell has made 18 appearances for Coventry this season and scored in City’s 3-0 win against Blackburn Rovers in October.
