COVENTRY City are set to make their first signing of the January transfer window.
The Sky Blues are close to signing Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo from Rangers, according to Sky Sports.
Matondo is set to join on loan with an option to buy included in the deal.
The 24-year-old came through Manchester City’s academy before joining German side Schalke in January 2019
He made 32 appearances for the Bundesliga club and later spent time on loan at Stoke City and Belgian side Cercle Brugge.
The 12-cap Wales international enjoyed a productive spell in Belgium, scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances.
Matondo completed a permanent move to Scottish giants Rangers in July 2022.
He helped the Gers win the Scottish League Cup last season but has made just eight appearances for the Ibrox club this term.
