FOUR people have been arrested in Coventry during a one-day police crackdown in the north east of the city.
The arrests were made by Coventry Police’s North East team as part of Operation Chino, a monthly day of high-intensity policing focusing on a different area of the city.
A man was arrested on suspicion of shop thefts in the area.
Three others were arrested in connection with serious youth violence in Coventry.
Patrols were carried out around Warwickshire Retail Park, the Airport Retail Park, Walsgrave Triangle, the Ricoh Arena, Gallagher Retail Park, Foleshill Road and Stoney Stanton Road with a mixture of uniformed and plain-clothed officers.
Officers carried out 12 stop and searches, with a small amount of cannabis recovered.
They were joined by traffic officers to patrol vehicle crime hotspot areas.
The team helped to recover a stolen Ford which had been taken earlier that day.
Another car was seized by officers in Stoke Green, which was stopped and seized for having no insurance.
The team also carried out a parking operation in Stoney Stanton Road and Foleshill Road, reporting a number of vehicles for parking violations.
