COVENTRY City midfielder Jamie Allen is on the shortlist for the Championship’s player of the month award for January.
Allen produced a string of fine performances throughout the previous month.
He struggled with injuries in the first few months of the campaign.
The 30-year-old made his first league start since September in City’s defeat against Norwich City at the start of January.
He kept his place in Frank Lampard’s side thereafter, starting in four successive wins against Bristol City, Blackburn Rovers, Watford and Swansea City.
Allen is nominated for the award alongside Burnley’s James Trafford, Oxford United’s Ciaron Brown and Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson.
A panel comprising Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman, EFL chief executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies will select the winner.
The winner of the award will be revealed on Friday, February 7.
