SKY Sports EFL expert Don Goodman believes Coventry City’s change in mentality is the biggest difference between Frank Lampard and Mark Robins.
Lampard replaced Robins in the Coventry Building Society Arena dugout in November and has overseen a dramatic upturn in form since his arrival as head coach.
The Sky Blues have risen from 17th in the table into the play-off places following a sparkling run of form.
And Sky Sports commentator and pundit Goodman believes Coventry are now winning games they may have lost under Robins earlier in the campaign.
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Goodman said: “In the 17 games before Frank Lampard arrived at Coventry City, they lost eight games but six of those were by just one goal.
“They’ve won nine of the 13 games under Lampard by a one-goal margin, which says to me that they’ve started to come out on the right side of those tight games, and that in itself is a recipe for success.
“The eight clean sheets have helped, as they only had two prior to his arrival, so all in all it feels there has been a shift in mentality, and that’s arguably the biggest difference we’ve seen under Lampard.
“I’ve seen a never-say-die attitude. They’ve picked up six points from the last seven games with three goals after the 90th minute.
“I dare say that may not have happened earlier in the season.”
