COVENTRY Blaze earned a third straight win in the Elite League with a 6-4 victory against Glasgow Clan in their penultimate home game of the season.

A brace from Chase Gresock and further goals from Nick Seitz, Alessio Luciani, Terrance Amorosa and Morten Jurgens sealed victory for Blaze at the Skydome Arena.

And the result means Coventry sit fifth in the Elite League standings with two regular season matches left to play.

Blaze opened the scoring at 4.48 when Gresock struck on the powerplay after the official called Tyson McLellan for holding the stick.

And Coventry doubled their lead at 18.13 as Seitz finished high into the net after good work from Luciani and Brandon Alderson.

The hosts extended their advantage at 22.37 when Luciani produced a pinpoint finish from the left dot.

And Blaze found the net again at 29.45 as Gresock scored his second goal of the night.

Glasgow reduced the deficit at 31.03 when Keaton Jameson placed a shot over Blaze netminder Mat Robson.

However, Blaze restored their four-goal cushion at 34.43 courtesy of Amorosa’s strike.

The two teams traded late goals as Steven Seigo netted for Clan at 48.44 before Jurgens struck for Blaze at 54.06.

And Seigo found the net again for Glasgow at 58.39 before Matt Stief scored a consolation goal for the visitors with 12 seconds left to play.

However, the game ended on a sour note for Blaze with Robson forced to leave the ice in the final minutes due to injury.

Coventry are next in action against Cardiff Devils on Friday, April 4 with the face-off at 7.30pm at the Vindico Arena.

Blaze then host Sheffield Steelers in their regular season finale on Sunday, April 6 with the face-off at 5.30pm at the Skydome.
