The Wild Boar in Warwick is turning a new page – and the community is invited to be part of the story.
Ben, a seasoned hospitality professional with over 20 years of experience – from pot-washer to manager – has taken the reins as the new landlord of The Wild Boar.
His career includes running well-loved venues such as The Oak, Millsy’s, and Street in Earlsdon, where he built a reputation for creating welcoming spaces with personality and heart.
With a lifelong passion for culinary arts and community engagement, Ben’s mission is simple: to preserve the pub’s unique charm while introducing thoughtful, exciting changes that bring people together.
“I’ve always believed the best pubs feel like home,” says Ben. “That’s what I want to create here – a welcoming space for everyone: families, dog walkers, neighbors, and visitors alike.”
To kick off this exciting new chapter, The Wild Boar is hosting a Pub Warming Party on Sunday 4th May, complete with a complimentary hog roast as a thank you to the community for the warm welcome. It’s the perfect chance to meet the new team, soak up the atmosphere, and get a flavour of what’s to come – quite literally.
Exciting updates include the launch of a Pub Tapas menu later in May – a relaxed, social dining experience perfect for sharing over a pint. The menu features small plates like House Focaccia, Pork & Chive Pt, Stilton & Nuts, Whitebait, Anchovies, Prosciutto & Pear, Proper Chips, and more. Whether you’re after bold flavors like Chorizo or comforting classics like a homemade Sausage Roll, there’s something for everyone.
Future plans also include collaborations with local farms, live music nights, and more community-led events to celebrate and support the talent and produce of the Warwick area.
Ben sees this transition as a shared journey. “This isn’t just my pub – it’s ours,” he says. “I’m always open to ideas from the community about how we can make The Wild Boar even better.” He’s particularly eager to collaborate with local producers, musicians, artists, and independent businesses to help shape a space that truly reflects Warwick’s vibrant character.
Looking ahead to summer, The Wild Boar will be welcoming food trucks and guest chefs into the garden, offering a rotating mix of flavours and fresh ideas to complement the pub’s menu. Ben also plans to open up the pub’s versatile spaces to local clubs, entrepreneurs, community groups, and council initiatives. Whether it’s for meetings, creative projects, or informal gatherings, the doors are open.
This refreshing blend of tradition and innovation makes for a compelling local story – one rooted in entrepreneurship, passion, and the spirit of revitalization. Interviews, images, and further details are available upon request.
