COVENTRY Blaze have confirmed the return of British defenceman David Clements for an 11th season with the club in 2025/26.
The club awarded Clements a testimonial game last season with the fixture to take place this weekend (Saturday, May 17, 5.30pm) at the Skydome Arena.
Clements has surpassed the 500-game milestone in the Elite League since making his debut for Blaze in the 2015/16 season.
The 30-year-old became an associate captain of Blaze in 2022/23 and sits on 538 appearances with 121 points (27 goals and 94 assists).
Clements said: “I’m delighted to be continuing my journey with the Blaze for the 2025/26 season.
“It’s been a fantastic year, and I’m excited about what the future holds for this team.
“I’d also like to thank everyone who has shown me incredible support throughout my testimonial season – it truly means a lot, and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the 17th.”
Blaze head coach, Kevin Moore added: “David is a steady veteran presence both on and off the ice.
“He is someone who defends hard and makes good offensive reads in our system.
“I’m excited to have David back for another season.”
Blaze will honour Clements with a testimonial game at the Skydome this weekend with a host of current and former Blaze and Great Britain players to take to the ice.
Clements has represented Great Britain at all levels on the international stage.
He has made three appearances at the IIHF World Championship and recently won gold in the Division I Group A tournament in Romania.
