A ‘HORRIFIC’ attack – a Coventry man who stabbed a neighbour in the head has been jailed for attempted murder.
Sadiq Sulemani of Lower Holyhead Road was convicted following a trial at Warwick Crown Court and jailed for 16 years.
Sulemani, who was 19 at the time, attacked the man at a home in Lower Holyhead Road on February 20 last year.
He left the knife embedded in his victim’s head as he fled after the attack.
The victim survived, but suffered significant head and facial injuries.
Sulemani handed himself into police a short time later and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
PC Carly Philp from West Midlands Police’s Major Crime Unit said: “This was a horrific attack. There’s no justification for such extreme violence and Sulemani has rightly been put behind bars for a long time.”
