COVENTRY Rugby finished the season with an eight-try 50-31 victory against London Scottish.
Alex Rae’s side ran in eight tries as Sam Maunder, Jake Henry and Logan Trotter all crossed twice while Will Lane and Tommy Mathews also dotted down at Butts Park Arena.
The result means Coventry finish the Championship season fifth in the table just six points behind third-placed Doncaster Knights.
Coventry made the perfect start as Maunder powered over the line following a catch and drive at a lineout after just five minutes and Mathews added the extras from wide on the left.
However, the visitors responded on 25 minutes when Austin Wallis finished off a driving maul.
And Scottish crossed again four minutes later when Dan Nutton dotted down under the posts and Josh Bellamy kicked the conversion.
However, London lost flanker Jack Ingall to the sin-bin just past the half-hour mark following a succession of offsides.
And the home side made the extra man count just a minute later as Henry scored in the corner from Liam Richman’s floated pass and Mathews converted from a tricky angle.
However, the Exiles scored their third try on 37 minutes when Bellamy gathered his own grubber kick to score from close range.
And the half ended with a mass brawl between the two sets of players as Coventry’s Chester Owen and London’s Ashley Challenger both received yellow cards.
Trailing by three points at the break, Coventry responded with a pair of quickfire tries at the start of the second half.
Maunder dotted down his second try of the game on 55 minutes before Henry touched down again five minutes later as Mathews converted both scores.
The visitors scored their bonus point try through Wallis on 62 minutes as the hooker ran to the line from inside his own half.
However, Franklin McMillan picked up Longon’s third yellow card of the game soon after when he took out a Coventry player in the air.
Trotter ran in two tries in the space of three minutes before Lane crossed for Coventry’s seventh try following a bulldozing run from replacement prop Jevaughn Warren.
London crossed three minutes from time as Matt Gribbon finished off a flowing move before Mathews dotted down with the final play of the game.
