COVENTRY City ended their tour of Portugal with a 2-0 defeat against Portimonense in their first pre-season outing.

The Sky Blues fielded two different XI’s in either half at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao.

After a goalless first half, Portimonense scored two second-half goals to ensure City started pre-season with a defeat.

Portimonense finished just one point above the relegation zone in Portugal’s second tier last season.

Summer signings Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Miguel Angel Brau both featured in the second half.

Youngsters Luke Bell, Callum Perry and Kai Andrews also featured for the Sky Blues in Portugal.

A number of the club’s first team players made up the remainder of the XI’s.
