A PASSIONATE broadcaster and advocate for Coventry is hosting a free youth project designed to build confidence, resilience and real-world skills later this month.
John Dalziel – also known as JD – is teaming up with PET-Xi Training Ltd to support and co-deliver The Den, a four day programme of teamwork challenges, creative thinking, budgeting and leadership activities aimed at helping young people aged 11–16 in the Coventry area
discover their potential.
JD, who has worked alongside PET-Xi co-founder Fleur Sexton since 2008, will bring his trademark energy and real-world experience to the programme as a volunteer.
He said: “Coventry is my home, and I care deeply about what the next generation here grows up believing is possible.
“Fleur and the PET-Xi team are nothing short of phenomenal, the work they do genuinely changes lives and helps shape futures for young people.
“I’m proud to stand alongside them and do what I can to help create opportunities, raise aspirations, and show young people in this city just how much potential they have.”
JD and Fleur see The Den as a natural continuation of their previous work on a range of initiatives to inspire, uplift, and open doors for the next generation.
Fleur said: “John brings such authenticity, humour and heart. The young people instantly connect with him. He’s been part of the PET-Xi family for years and we’re so grateful he’s giving up his time to help make The Den a success.”
The Den takes place from August 19–22 at a Coventry venue which will be shared upon booking. Lunch and refreshments are provided daily.
