STUDENTS at West Coventry Academy are celebrating A-level and vocational examination results which mark an important milestone in securing the next steps on their journeys.
The majority of students achieved the grades they needed to progress on to the next stage in their education, training or working life.
Of those who applied to university, most students secured their first choice. Highlights include Jake who achieved 4 A*s to secure a place studying physics at Cambridge, Larisa who achieved 2 As and a Distinction* to study criminology at Leicester, and Josh who achieved 3 As to study criminology at Birmingham.
Alyssia achieved 2 As and a B to study economics with international finance and banking at Nottingham Trent, and Humaira and Charlotte both secured an A* and 2 Bs and will be studying law and history respectively at Nottingham and Manchester.
A number of students also secured apprenticeships, including places at National Grid and Coventry Building Society.
Headteacher Ana Neofitou said: “I am delighted with these results, which are testimony to the students’ dedication and hard work, the staff who have worked tirelessly on their behalf and the support from our families in preparing students so well over these last two years.
“Our students should be rightly proud of their achievements and I am very proud of them.”
