COVENTRY Sphinx exited the FA Trophy after suffering a 2-0 home defeat against Lincoln United in first round qualifying.
Goals either side of half time from Tris Drummond and Elliot Dye condemned Sphinx to defeat at the Cameron Slater Arena.
The defeat sees Sphinx exit the competition at the first hurdle.
Lincoln ply their trade at the same level as Coventry in the Northern Premier League East division.
Sphinx fell behind after just 12 minutes when Drummond fired a shot into the top right corner from the edge of the penalty area.
The home side almost drew level on the half-hour mark only for Lincoln goalkeeper Heath Richardson to make two crucial saves.
However, the visitors doubled their lead in the final minute as Dye finished at the back post to knock Sphinx out of the competition.
Coventry are next in action against Lichfield City on Saturday, September 13 with kick-off at 3pm at the Trade Tyre Community Stadium.
