POLICE in Coventry have been seizing illegal bikes, picking up stolen cars, dealing with anti-social behaviour and catching speeding drivers during patrols last week.
The City Centre team was joined by officers from the Road Harm team for an operation against illegal e-bike use in the city – during which eight such bikes were seized.
The St Michael’s team carried out late night patrols in Lady Herbert’s Garden after concerns around anti-social behaviour were raised by residents.
The Wainbody neighbourhood team was called to Pershore Place regarding an abandoned car which was found to have been stolen. It was recovered for further examination.
Another stolen car was tracked down and picked up by officers in the North West of the city.
The Henley and Longford team carried out a speedwatch operation in Lentons Lane, Shilton Lane and Wigston Road, during which 20 out of 73 vehicles were found to be breaking the 30mph limit. The drivers will recieve penalties in the post.
The Hillfields Team joined up with Police Cadets for an engagement operation in Craners Road after feedback from residents about anti-social behaviour in the area.
The team handed out leaflets and spoke to the public about their work, while the cadets gained an insight into the day- to-day work of a serving police officer.
