Blending a horror icon with a banquet of incredibly tasty treats, Coventry City Centre will soon play host to Count Dracula himself in a special event.
Dedicated to one of the most famed literary characters right at a time when an obsession with the creatures of the night is surging back to prominence, patrons will be treated to a whole range of dishes and experiences from the traditional homeland of the Count himself.
Delve into the Darkness this September
The dining experience will be hosted out of Rosie Malone’s in Coventry City Centre by Hanul Domnesc. The Romanian restaurant and tavern hopes to welcome guests from across the city to enjoy the traditional dishes of Count Dracula’s homeland. The vampire banquet will be far more than a sit-down dinner showcasing an array of tasty meals, though.
Hanul Domnesc’s spokesperson has said that it’ll be a “full immersive” experience that spans a four-course dinner. Within the experience, there’ll also be live actors, themed décor, live folk music, and “dramatic storytelling.” Diners will also be treated to meeting the Count himself, who’s said to be ready to make a particularly “theatrical entrance,” to get the experience underway.
They’re going to pull out all the stops for this unique blend of Romanian folklore and the historic charm of Coventry. The one-off experience will be taking place on 13 September. Anyone who goes will be offered a welcome glass of wine and is asked to wear clothes with gothic elegance, some medieval flair, or simply smart attire. Given the popularity of vampires right now, the £30 tickets won’t last long!
Further Indulge in the Vampire Craze
Vampires have been popping up more and more across entertainment and media of late. After the sexy vampire craze of the 00s and early 10s faded, we got a bit of a break, but they’re back now and toothier than ever. Most recently, Nosferatu defied the season with a Christmas Day release to land a decent worldwide box office of over $180 million. Around it, we’ve seen the likes of Sinners, Abigail, Renfield, and El Conde earn acclaim.
On TV, perhaps the most popular recent vampiric outing has been What We Do in the Shadows, perfectly treading the line between comedy and the creatures of the night. Its popularity greatly helped to encourage fans to seek out more vampiric creations in more hands-on experiences. So, the teeming stock of vampire slots and themed live game shows became a natural landing spot.
Live game shows have become well-known for their immersive themed experiences, from the Dead or Alive Saloon to Age of the Gods Bonus Roulette. Of course, it’s in the platform’s slots section where the widest variety of vampire games are found, from Vampire Hunters to Vampy Party. Beyond the digital world, vampires also continue to go big in board game crowdfunding efforts. Recently, Ancient Blood: The Order of Vampire Hunters collected £369,285 on Gamefound, while Vampire Survivors is eyeing a board game spin-off with a Kickstarter launch.
Vampires are hot right now, so the Vampire Banquet in Coventry City Centre couldn’t be coming at a better time. Set to be a hit on 13 September, perhaps Hanul Domnesc will be encouraged to put on even more experiences down the line.
