FREE tours, activities and events will be on offer as over 50 buildings and spaces in Coventry open their doors during the annual Heritage Open Days celebration.
Visitors to St Mary’s Guildhall, one of the venues taking part, will be able to explore centuries of historical architecture and interiors along with the renowned medieval Coventry Tapestry.
Also on the line-up is the Grade I listed former monastery the Charterhouse, The Albany Theatre, Canley Ford Nature Trail, and Daimler Powerhouse.
Coun Abdul Salam Khan, Coventry City Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events, said: “Heritage Open Days is the perfect way to discover Coventry’s past, present and future, completely free of charge.
“With new venues like Daimler Powerhouse and Spirit Bridge Studio and old favourites like St Mary’s Guildhall and Coombe Abbey, there’s something for everyone.”
Coun Naeem Akhtar, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, added: “This year’s programme celebrates our city’s creativity, resilience and unique spaces while highlighting this year’s theme of architecture. I encourage residents and visitors to the city of all ages and interests to explore and enjoy.”
Heritage Open days begins tomorrow Friday (September 12) and runs until Sunday September 21.
