COVENTRY City pair Brandon Thomas-Asante and Milan van Ewijk have been nominated for the PFA Championship Fans’ player of the month award for October.

Thomas-Asante and van Ewijk both enjoyed a stellar month on the pitch to help the Sky Blues top the Championship table.

Forward Thomas-Asante began the month with an assist against Milwall while van Ewijk recorded two assists and a clean sheet in the same fixture.

Thomas-Asante then netted twice as the Sky Blues thrashed Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

In the same fixture, van Ewijk recorded another clean sheet.

Thomas-Asante scored again in City’s home win against Blackburn Rovers as van Ewijk recorded a third successive shutout in October.

The league’s top scorer stole the show again with a brace against Portsmouth while van Ewijk kept Pompey out for the 88 minutes he was on the pitch.

Thomas-Asante continued his scoring run in City’s home win against Watford in which van Ewijk also featured.

However, the forward drew a blank in the final game of the month against Wrexham which van Ewijk missed through suspension.
