EPHRON Mason-Clark scored a stunning bicycle kick winner as Coventry City claimed a 1-0 victory at Stoke City in a top-of-the-table clash.

Mason-Clark’s acrobatics four minutes from time won the game for the Sky Blues at the bet365 Stadium.

The result means Coventry sit five points clear at the top of the Championship table.

The Sky Blues went into the game four points clear of the Potters with former Coventry boss Mark Robins now in charge of the Staffordshire club.

And the visitors created the first chance of the game as a home defender glanced Victor Torp’s dangerous free-kick to safety.

Stoke goalkeeper Viktor Johansson then tipped another Torp effort from over the crossbar later in the first half.

And Torp found himself in a promising position again before the break but could only fire well off target from just outside the penalty area.

Stoke’s best chance of the first period fell to Million Manhoef only for the winger to miscue his volley at the back post as he tried to turn home Sorba Thomas’s cross from the left.

Coventry went close after the break as Johansson gathered Mason-Clark’s effort from distance at the second attempt with Brandon Thomas-Asante in close attention.

However, the Sky Blues eventually broke the deadlock on 86 minutes when Ellis Simms nodded Milan van Ewijk’s long throw into the path of Mason-Clark who produced a sublime acrobatic effort from 10-yards out which found the net via the aid of a deflection.
