COVENTRY Sphinx surrendered an early lead in a 2-1 defeat away at Shepshed Dynamo at the Dovecote Stadium.
Kyle Carey’s early goal put Sphinx ahead only for Jesse Friend to draw the home side level from the penalty spot.
And Niall Prendeville’s header completed the turnaround shortly before half time with Sphinx unable to find an equaliser after the break.
The result means Coventry sit ninth in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points outside of the play-off places.
Sphinx broke the deadlock after just 12 minutes when Carey curled a stunning first time effort into the top-right corner of the goal from 25-yards out.
Shepshed equalised on 21 minutes as Friend drew a foul in the box and picked himself up to score the resulting penalty.
And the home side turned the game on its head on 40 minutes when Prendeville saw his header bounce into the ground and into the top-left corner from six-yards out.
Coventry are next in action against AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday, November 15 with kick-off at 3.03pm at the Cameron Slater Arena.
