COVENTRY City ‘want to sign’ Republic of Ireland hat-trick hero Troy Parrott according to reports.
The Sky Blues are reportedly ‘plotting a move’ to sign striker Parrott, according to SportsBoom.
Parrott scored a sensational hat-trick against Hungary to help Ireland reach the FIFA World Cup qualifying play-offs.
The 23-year-old scored a dramatic last-minute winner to complete his treble and keep Ireland’s 2026 World Cup hopes alive.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has excelled in the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar this season.
Parrott has scored 18 goals in as many appearances for club and country this campaign including a recent double against Portugal.
And SportsBoom claim Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard has been ‘an admirer’ of the Ireland striker for ‘some time’.
The report also suggests Coventry see Parrott as a potential successor to current top scorer Brandon Thomas-Asante.
SportsBoom believe Premier League side Leeds United are ‘weighing up a move’ for the in-form forward in January.
Parrott made four senior appearances for Spurs after progressing through the club’s academy following a spell with Belvedere in his native Ireland.
He spent time on loan at Millwall, Ipswich Town, Milton Keynes Dons and Preston North End during his time with Spurs.
Parrott later joined Dutch side Excelsior on loan for the 2023/24 campaign where he scored 17 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions.
And his performances in the Dutch top-flight earned him a move to AZ the following summer.
Parrott enjoyed a prolific debut season for AZ as he found the net 20 times in 47 games.
And he has continued his rich vein of form this campaign, scoring seven times in as many appearances in the UEFA Conference League.
