COVENTRY City striker Ellis Simms is on the shortlist for the Championship player of the month award for November.
Simms enjoyed a prolific November as he scored five goals in just four appearances to help Coventry move 10 points clear at the top of the Championship table.
The striker made the most of his chance after Frank Lampard handed the striker a starting berth following an injury to Haji Wright.
Simms played a crucial role in Ephron Mason-Clark’s dramatic late winner against Stoke City despite only coming on with six minutes left to play.
The striker then scored the equalising goal in Coventry’s 3-2 come-from-behind win against 10-man West Bromwich Albion.
Simms continued his fine form by scoring a brace as the Sky Blues claimed an impressive 4-2 win at Middlesbrough.
He opened the scoring with a stunning finish into the top-right corner before later completing the scoring with a simple header from close range.
And Simms ended the month with another brace against Charlton Athletic as his two goals put Coventry ahead in a 3-1 victory.
The other nominees for the player award are Birmingham City’s Alex Cochrane, Derby County’s Carlton Morris and Hull City’s Joe Gelhardt.
The judging panel for the manager award comprises Sky Sports EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL chief executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard is on the shortlist of the Championship’s manager of the month award for November.
