COVENTRY City supporters can buy the club’s away shirt for 1p this weekend at a special event run by front-of-shirt sponsors Monzo.
Monzo will open two pop-up 1p shops in Coventry with supporters able to buy the club’s away shirt for just 1p.
The shops will open on Saturday, January 17 ahead of Coventry’s M69 derby clash against Leicester City.
The bank will open the shops in Broadgate Square (from 10am to 5pm) in Coventry city centre and in the CBS Arena fanzone (10am to 12pm).
To buy a shirt, supporters must download the Monzo app and open a personal account.
Fans who already have a Monzo personal account can also take advantage of the 1p shirt deal.
Supporters must then pay 1p using their Monzo account to walk away with the shirt.
The offer is a first come, first served in-person event, exclusive to Monzo customers.
Children under 18 can participate but need an adult aged 18 and above present with a Monzo account.
Monzo’s chief design officer, Vuokko Aro said: “We know how much the kit means to Coventry fans, so we wanted to do something special to kick off the year.
“For one day only, we’re covering the cost so fans can get their hands on it for just 1p.
“It’s a simple way to show our support for the club and the community, and a reminder of what we stand for at Monzo: making money work for everyone.”
