COVENTRY City youngster Callum Perry has joined National League side Rochdale on a short-term loan deal.
Perry has joined Dale on an initial 28-day youth loan as he looks to aid the club’s promotion push.
He has captained Coventry’s under-21 side this season including in the Premier League Cup.
Perry said: “I can’t wait to get going. The way we play suits me perfectly – I like to get on the ball and play.
“The lads are doing brilliantly, so it’s a great place to come. I know Jamie Allen from Coventry and he told me it was a great club, and that I should go to.
“I’m looking forward to getting game time with this group.”
Rochdale manager, Jimmy McNulty added: “Callum’s a brilliant footballer.
“With Sam Beckwith out for the remainder of the season, it’s a blow for any team.
“Perry brings some of those in possession qualities that Sam has, which we’ve been looking for since the injury.
“He’s very highly thought of at Coventry. He’s a good character and we think in our system he can be a very good player for us.”
The 20-year-old has featured on the bench seven times in the Championship this campaign and twice in the Carabao Cup.
Rochdale currently sit fifth in the National League table, three points behind leaders York City with three games in hand.
