HAJI Wright’s late goal earned Coventry City a come-from-behind 2-1 win against rivals Leicester City in the M69 derby.
Wright ended a 14-game goal drought in all competitions to score the winner five minutes from time at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
That came after Jordan James put the visitors ahead early on only for Ellis Simms to draw the Sky Blues level shortly after the break.
The result means Coventry remain six points clear of Middlesbrough at the top of the Championship table.
Leicester stunned the home side on 10 minutes when Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s first time pass found James who finished past Carl Rushworth at his near post from eight-yards out.
The Foxes almost doubled their lead soon after as Carl Rushworth superbly tipped De Cordova-Reid’s scuffed effort over the crossbar at full stretch.
And Rushworth denied De Cordova-Reid again shortly before the break after Oliver Skipp cut the ball back to the forward who shot from just inside the penalty area.
However, Coventry equalised two minutes after half time as Simms touched home Jack Rudoni’s whipped ball into the danger area to draw the home side level.
And the Sky Blues almost completed the turnaround soon after as Romain Esse burst through on goal only to hit the post with Foxes goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk beaten.
Frank Lampard’s side remained on top as Rudoni released substitute Wright down the left side of the penalty area only for Stolarczyk to keep the scores level.
However, the Sky Blues eventually completed the comeback on 85 minutes when Wright bundled home Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s ball across the face of goal from point-blank range.
