COVENTRY City have signed winger Jahnoah Markelo from Swiss Super League side FC Zurich for an undisclosed fee.
Markelo has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Sky Blues and becomes the club’s third signing of the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old scored six goals and provided eight assists in 43 appearances for Zurich after joining the Swiss side in 2024.
Markelo said: “I’m very excited to join Coventry City.
“It’s a big club and they want to achieve big things.
“I also want to be successful so I hope we can achieve something special together.
“My ambitions are to get as much playing time as I can and help the team win games.
“I’m also looking forward to playing in front of the Coventry fans and seeing the stadium.
“I know it’s always full and has a great atmosphere so I’m very excited.”
He spent time in the youth acadamies of Ajax and FC Twente.
Markelo later enjoyed spells at Go Ahead Eagles, Croatian side Kustosija and Slovenian club Celje.
The Dutch-born winger received a call-up to the Suriname national team in November 2025.
Markelo will wear the number 24 shirt for the Sky Blues.
