FOUR teenage suspects are being sought by police in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old in Coventry.
Michael Ababio suffered a stab wound during disorder outside Foleshill Library in Broad Street at around 9.40pm on Sunday February 22. He was pronounced dead early the following day.
Police investigating the murder have raided a number of homes in the Coventry and Stratford area since the attack, and have named four suspects they want to arrest.
They are Shakeel Ahmed, Mouhammadou Barry, and Ismail Nabeel – all aged 17 – and Mahad Mohammed, 19.
Det Insp Nigel Box, who is leading the investigation, said: “We’ve worked around the clock since the tragic murder of Michael as we establish exactly what happened and who was responsible.
“We’ve made a number of efforts to locate and arrest the four teenagers, and now need the public’s help as that work continues.
“I need anyone who knows where they may be, or where they have been since Sunday February 22, to get in touch straight away and talk to us.
“Michael’s family deserve answers, and we will not rest until that happens.
“Anyone who is helping any of the four evade capture needs to know that they too face arrest.
“I’d also like to thank those who have sent information to our dedicated website.
“We are continuing to gather evidence and follow new lines of enquiry.”
Anyone who sees any of the suspects, or who knows where they are, is asked to call West Midlands Police on 999, quoting log number 4185 of February 22.
