COVENTRY Sphinx saw their winless run stretch to three matches following a 2-1 defeat away at AFC Rushden and Diamonds in midweek.
Sphinx surrendered the lead at Hayden Road after Damian Kelly’s goal on 22 minutes put the visitors ahead.
However, Rushden equalised two minutes before the break courtesy of Jordan O’Brien’s strike from distance.
And the home side completed the turnaround on 69 minutes when Tyler Winters headed in at a corner.
The result means Coventry sit 17th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, four points clear of the relegation zone.
Sphinx broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark after the visitors broke down the right and Kelly headed in a cross at the near post.
However, the Diamonds drew level moments before half time when O’Brien found the corner of the net from 20-yards out.
And Winters put Rushden ahead after the break with a header into the roof of the net following a corner.
Coventry are next in action against Basford United on Saturday, March 14 with kick-off at 3pm at Greenwich Avenue.
