FOOTBALL - Coventry Sphinx beaten by Corby Town and held by Rugby Borough to leave club four points from safety

COVENTRY Sphinx find themselves four points from safety with three games left to play following a derby draw against Rugby Borough.

Sphinx conceded late on to draw 1-1 at Kilsby Lane on Easter Monday following a 2-0 home defeat against Corby Town at the Cameron Slater Arena.

The result mean Coventry sit 20th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, four points from safety with just three games left to play.

Sphinx suffered a sixth straight defeat against Corby and failed to score for the fourth game in a row.

Second-half goals from Fletcher Toll and substitute Miguel Ngwa condemned the home side to defeat.

And Sphinx could only draw away at rivals Rugby as Tyrell Waite scored a late leveller for Borough after Raymond Poku put Coventry ahead.

Sphinx have now failed to win any of their last nine league matches and require at least two results from their final three fixtures to have any chance of avoiding the drop.

Coventry are next in action against Sutton Coldfield Town on Saturday, April 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the Cameron Slater Arena.
