Bees target Elite League top four

Coventry Editorial 23rd May, 2014 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

BEES can give their Elite League play-off aspirations a massive boost with wins from two home fixtures over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Gary Havelocks’s riders face Eastbourne at Brandon tonight (Friday), with the two sides currently locked level on 18 points, before facing Wolverhampton and a win will lift the Bees above their rivals into the top four.

Another successful week on the road has seen the Bees pick up four points, including three from Wednesday’s stunning success at Poole.

Is is at home where Bees have yet to find their true form, but weekend clashes with the Eagles and then Birmingham on Monday offer them further opportunities to get it right.

“If we can get maximum points from the weekend, we will be right in the mix, and that’s our aim,” said Bees promoter, Mick Horton.

“Wednesday’s result at Poole was a huge bonus for us, we were over the moon with that, and we’re on a high as a team.

“But we’ve got to finish the job off from this run of matches and that means getting a couple of wins on Friday and Monday, and then we can re-group and see where we are.”

Bees again bring in Aaron Summers to guest for the unavailable Kyle Howarth, who will return to the team for the Birmingham fixture on Monday.
